While The Ripple Effect gives priority to classroom resources, we have also provided funding to some schools for playground equipment. Most schools in the area have no playground equipment, and teachers commonly attribute students’ behavioral issues to the lack of activities or facilities available to them during their break times.
Baan Raikoknongbler was founded in 1944 and caters for 290 primary aged students. The school grounds are large, but have very little equipment, and the buildings are damaged and of a poor standard. During the rainy months the school grounds (made up of mostly dirt) become muddy and students are unable to play on them. Rotary donated the funds for a playground, which went to Rykoknongbler Primary School in Nang Rong.
