Volunteer
Want to work in Thailand? Have design, presentation, fundraising or organisational skills? Or do you want to gain these?
The Ripple Effect is currently looking for more members to complete their dynamic team. Contact us for more information.
The Ripple Effect team consists of a wide range of volunteers who assist in the development of the project in both Australia and Thailand.
We welcome new team members with any skills they can contribute to the project. In the past we have been assisted by amateur photographers, musicians, university students, and individuals with an interest in health, education and sustainability.
Volunteers in Thailand
Each year a team of six volunteers is selected to work at the projects’ Thai base in Nang Rong. For six weeks they:
- Visit schools that have received funding to assess project progress
- Collect proposals for new projects that will have funds raised in Australia
- Allocate funding to approved projects
- Teach English at Suksasongkroh School and Orphanage
- Promote and administer safe, basic first aid
- Act as an intermediary between the project and its various supporters in Thailand.
At the conclusion of this period, and when they return to Australia, team members:
- talk about their experience at speaking engagements and meetings
- assist in selecting and training the next group who will travel to Thailand
- assist in raising funds for projects and initiate fundraising ideas
- attend and contribute to team meetings.
Joining this demanding program requires enthusiasm and patience. Living conditions in Thailand are basic and team members get little time to themselves, but participants attest to the positive impact the program has had on their lives. Many participants sign up for successive trips.
