What we do
The Ripple Effect works with schools to deliver projects that change the lives of young Thai children and their communities.
The Ripple Effect team identify and implement projects that meet our aims.
Our short-term aims include:
- motivating students to learning English to benefit the community
- improving the equipment and general quality of resources in schools
- encouraging schools to use funding for sustainable, income-generating projects that improve skills in students and increase resources within schools.
Our long-term aims include:
- teaching English to students at rural schools to improve their employment prospects and train others in the community
- improving the quality of life and the living conditions of students in the schools and people in the villages in Buriram province through:
- the development of various self-sustaining projects that enhance village culture
- providing assistance in the development and maintenance of local infrastructure and other needs of the community.
- reducing the need for young people to migrate to Bangkok in search of work
- ensuring stable and constant income for students and villagers by using local resources and labour for projects in schools
- providing materials to schools to educate students and villagers in good management, self-sufficiency, problem-solving and good environmental management
- improving the spoken English skills of students and teachers
- promoting the use of correct basic first aid to help prevent the spread of infection and disease.
